Cleaner Diesels

As you are aware diesel has a reputation for being dirty, smelly and producing a noisy vehicle but as technology improves the engines are getting better in every way. Manufacturers are now producing more equipment, eg injectors and engine electronic control units, catalytic converters on diesel engines which are improving the way they run. Now there are changes so that all diesels are to produce cleaner emissions from the exhaust. There is a new cleaner diesel coming on the market which is Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) which is already on sale in America . This is a cleaner-burning diesel fuel containing a maximum 15 parts-per-million (ppm) sulfur. ULSD fuel along with new engine and emission control system technologies will have an important role in improving air quality and providing human health benefits by significantly reducing current emissions. Advanced technology such as electronic controls, common rail fuel, injection systems, variable injection timing, improved combustion chambers configuration with turbo charging have now made diesel engines quieter and more powerful than vehicles in the past. These new engine technologies combined with fuel technologies are today producing cleaner diesels for our Motorhomes. Fiat, particularly, are the main developers of cleaner diesel driven engines. All of this can only make for major benefits, not least the fact that the use of cleaner technology fuel will result in significantly improved air quality.
